AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli forces are intensifying a widespread campaign of demolition and displacement targeting Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian WAFA news agency, Israeli bulldozers continued to destroy residential structures in the Tulkarm refugee camp for the fourth day in a row. Dozens of homes in Balawneh and Okasha neighborhoods were also razed.
In recent months, over 400 Palestinian homes have been completely demolished, while more than 2,570 have been partially damaged. The escalation has led to the displacement of over 5,000 families.
On Monday, Israeli troops raided Kafr Qaddum and issued demolition and construction halt orders. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers threatened to destroy more than 20 homes in the village of Lubban al-Sharqiya and demolished a farm structure in Maniya near Bethlehem.
Military jeeps also stormed a kindergarten and a home in Balata refugee camp in Nablus. In Aqraba, settlers attacked a barn owner and his wife. Other reported incidents include the demolition of tents and agricultural sheds, assault on shepherds, and livestock confiscation.
Thousands of Palestinians have been forced to flee from towns like Jenin and Tulkarm due to the increased violence and destruction.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared that land confiscations would escalate if the European Union recognizes Palestinian statehood. Smotrich is a key proponent of settlement expansion and annexation in the West Bank.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has voiced support for former US President Donald Trump’s plan to take over Gaza and relocate its residents. Trump proposed turning Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” a plan widely condemned as ethnic cleansing and a violation of international law.
